Welcome to the

CHB Radiography course. In this lower extremity CHB Radiography Course, you will have access to a clinical history-based knowledge and practice for in modules 6-9 in CHB Radiography course. Let's get ready and transform into a radiographer who performs lower extremity X-rays based on clinical history with the clinician’s perspective, for early diagnosis, minimizing repeat/unnecessary imaging, and reducing medical costs.

BETTY CHEN (YR 4 STUDENT)
'I WOULD RECOMMEND THE COURSE BECAUSE IT IS CLINICAL-HISTORY AND PATIENT-BY-PATIENT BASED, AND IT WILL MAKE ME A BETTER TEACHER IN THE FUTURE (RATHER THAN TELLING STUDENTS 'THIS IS THE WAY UNI TEACHES IT, AND IT'S HOW WE DO IT - WITHOUT QUESTIONING THE STATUS QUO). ALSO, IT GOES BEYOND WHAT THE UNI TEACHES AND INTO THE PRACTICAL WHY PART OF RADIOGRAPHY. HELPS TO HAVE A BETTER CONCEPTUAL UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND WHY YOU ANGLE/CENTRE/POSITION CERTAIN WAYS. GIVES YOU CONFIDENCE WHEN YOU KNOW THE PRACTICAL.'

MONIQUE LEADBITTER (YR 4 STUDENT)
'AT UNIVERSITY WE WERE JUST TAUGHT HOW TO POSITION PATIENTS FOR DIFFERENT RADIOGRAPHIC EXAMINATIONS. IN THIS COURSE, RYAN EXPLAINED, WITH EVIDENCE, WHY WE POSITION PATIENTS IN A PARTICULAR WAY. WITH THIS KNOWLEDGE, IT HAS ENABLED ME TO PRODUCE HIGH QUALITY IMAGES THAT ANSWER THE SPECIFIC CLINICAL QUESTION ON THE REFERRAL. IN ADDITION, I CAN BETTER ADAPT POSITIONING FOR DIFFERENT AND UNIQUE PATIENT PRESENTATIONS.

I WOULD ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO TAKE THIS COURSE IF THEY WOULD LIKE TO IMPROVE THEIR CURRENT RADIOLOGICAL PRACTICE AND ABILITY. THIS INCLUDES IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF THEIR IMAGES, ANSWERING SPECIFIC CLINICAL QUESTIONS AND REDUCING RADIATION DOSE WHERE POSSIBLE.'

JASON LOU (YR 3 USYD STUDENT)
'THE CHB RADIOGRAPHY COURSE ASTOUNDED ME BY WAS HOW IMPORTANT A VIEW IS IN TERMS OF DIAGNOSIS. E.G., THE MODIFIED TRAUMA AXIAL SHOULDER VIEW HAS BEEN FOUND TO BE EVEN BETTER THAN THE SHOULDER LATERAL VIEW. I WOULD RECOMMEND THE COURSE TO OTHERS FOR A FEW REASONS:
1. IT IS ESSENTIAL TO MOVE TOWARDS IMPROVING THE WORK THAT RADIOGRAPHERS DO GLOBALLY (AWAY FROM MONOTONOUS PROTOCOLS)
2. IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT RADIOGRAPHERS MOVE TOWARDS CLINICAL-BASED RADIOGRAPHY TO SUPPORT CURRENT MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS (INCLUDING EMERGENCY, ORTHOPAEDIC DOCTORS, AND RADIOLOGISTS) AND OTHER HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS TO BE ABLE TO REDUCE CLINICAL OVERSIGHTS IN DIAGNOSIS
3. IT IS IMPORTANT TO RECOGNIZE THAT CASE REPORTS AND EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICE IS IMPORTANT TO REVOLUTIONIZING THE FIELD OF RADIOGRAPHY AND TO ALLOW FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF WORKING CONDITIONS AS OUR ROLE CONTRIBUTES MORE TO THE HEALTH CARE SYSTEM. '

FAQ

1.   How can I access the course? Access to the course is available worldwide through the power of the Internet. This course is entirely online.

2.   How long can I access the course? Lifetime!! your one-off payment allows you to access the content in your lifetime including all the updates.

3.   Can I earn CPD points? You can allocate approximately 10-18 hours of CPD learning for the course, with each module typically requiring 0.5-2 hours. This is ideal for the annual CPD requirements established by the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (MRPBA). If you are a member of ASMIRT, you can claim 2.5 points per hour using the Online Education / Distance Learning activity type. If you are based in another country, it is advisable to check with your CPD provider regarding eligibility.

4.   What are the prerequisites for enrolment? What are the prerequisites for enrolment? We recommend having completed or being in the process of completing a degree in medical imaging, either at the undergraduate or postgraduate level. This course is also suitable for radiography educators seeking a systematic, evidence-based CHB radiography training program. Additionally, this course can serve as an evidence-based resource for radiologists and x-ray referrers to understand the additional diagnostic information that CHB radiography can provide when compared to conventional and protocol-based radiographic practices.
